the last couple weekends of august
company reconvened to kick the tires, assess the damage, batten down the
hatches, and record a new record. a fine time was had by all, and the
sessions in portland, maine and bushwick, brooklyn proved highly
productive. (check back here soon for news of how, when, and where you can
hear the new tunes...) to close out the time together company played a
labor eve show at the cakeshop on the lower east side of manhattan. joly
of
punkcast.com was there to capture the action and has posted some of
the footage on youtube:
leaker's lament

company is pleased to announce the
release of a music video, a video of a live show, an internet radio
show/podcast appearance, and a feature in an online magazine. Go on a
binge or visit these links in moderation, but all of them are definitely
worthwhile. (click on descriptions)
"poison
ivy" music video by andrew deutsch (home, land
of tomorrow) with maya hayuk. stephanie inhabits a dream world of andrew's
creation as she sings a song from OLD BABY. amazing!
video
from our record release show at sound fix, sunday, february 24, 2008,
by matt marlin (pterodactyl) with ed ropke and steve five: company
performs three songs: "the widow’s man," "parallel time" and "poison ivy."
three cameras capture the action!
THIS FRONTIER NEEDS HEROES RADIO HOUR,
hosted by jessica and brad lauretti. recorded on sunday, march 1, 2008:
brad and jessica of this frontier needs heroes engage company in
thoughtful conversation about making music and the band’s past, present,
and future, and company performs (mostly) acoustic renditions of "hard
choice," "old crow’s complaint," and "the sad businessman." (featuring
violin, ukulele, bongos, and a rhodes).
"listed" feature in DUSTED, an online magazine: company’s members
share ten musical works and write about how they inspire us. it turns out
we're into born-again records, emotionally unhinged divas, goofy head
collectives, and graying folksters, but you could have guessed as much,
right?
